The Letrasets: Yuckiness

New (& Final) EP From a Wildly Underrated Band

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

The Letrasets have been one of my favorite indie acts of the past few years, putting out some absolute banger singles and EPs since 2019 (feels like ages ago now). Sadly, as the indie band world turns, it appears The Letrasets have met their sunset as a group, but not before releasing their final EP Yuckiness.

Like much of The Letrasets music over the years, this 5-track project exhibits well-crafted and non-traditional song structures, fuzzy guitars, and crooning, wandering vocals. I actually find it quite hard to select a couple standouts from Yuckiness, all its songs work well. You can feel heavily influences of 90s alt, think a bit of Teenage Fanclub, Built to Spill, early, not annoying Radiohead, etc. Nothing wrong with the execution either.

So a simultaneous cheers and R.I.P. to The Letrasets.
