I Have Become The Angel of Death
When the Lamb broke the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, “Come.” I looked, and behold, a pale horse; and he who sat on it had the name Death; and Hades was following with him. Authority was given to them over a fourth of the Earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by the wild beasts of the Earth.
Last summer I published a blog extolling my appreciation for Aussie rockers Camp Cope, only to be alerted to the news just a few months later that the band was breaking up. I wrote about the sad coincidence (whatever the word is for the opposite of serendipity) here.
Just last week I published another blog about the unique sound of UK rockers SHEAFS, in hopes of bringing their music to a wider audience. In a truncated repeat version of prior events, I was struck with the below announcement from the band less than one week after I hit publish.
You gotta be kidding me. I mean what have I become some sort of musical reverse Midas?
Anyway, pour one out for ’em this week. I’ll try not to write about your band anytime soon.
